Our History
Straube's Aircraft Services was founded by Jim Straube in the State of Hawaii in 1985. The business was relocated in 1994 to Kingman, Arizona where Jim's brother, Rick Straube and his son Sean Straube joined the family business. Jim Straube continued to provide aircraft painting services in Hawaii as well as Arizona. In 1999 Straube’s Aircraft Services Hawaii was reestablished on the island of Oahu to better serve the State of Hawaii, and Jim was joined by his sons; Jacob Straube & Jeremiah Straube. As of September 2004 Straube's Aircraft Services was awarded a GSA Schedule contract to paint aircraft and related equipment for the US Government. In 2006 the mobile crew was formed and began working on damaged aircraft in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. To date the mobile crew has refurbished static displays across the USA and abroad. In the spring of 2007 Straube's Aircraft Services began working with AgustaWestland as their in house paint contractor at their Philadelphia assembly plant. All locations, family owned and operated businesses, are Small Business Certified.
Straube’s Aircraft Services, Inc., located in Kingman, Arizona and Ogden Utah. The Kingman, Arizona facility occupies a 10,000 sq. ft hangar on the Kingman Airport. Located approximately 90 minutes from Las Vegas and 3 hours from Phoenix, our Kingman paint facility serves the greater southwest as well as offering mobile crews that will provide aircraft paint services to all 50 US States and worldwide locations. The Kingman shop offers upholstery services.
The Ogden Utah facility occupies a 15000 sq ft hangar at Ogden Hinkley Airport. Located approx 37 miles north of Salt Lake City, UT, our Ogden facility provides services for the western USA and Canada.
Straube’s Aircraft Services Hawaii, Inc. is located in Kapolei, Hawaii, on the island of Oahu. We occupy 20,000 sq ft of Hangar 110 on Kalaeloa Airport, formerly Barbers Point Naval Air Station. The Hawaii shop serves the State of Hawaii, state and federal government and also offers mobile painting crews at your location.
Presently all paint facilities offer high quality refinishing of Corporate & Commercial Aircraft, Helicopters and General Aviation, and Military aircraft, ground equipment and large equipment. As of September 2004 Straube’s Aircraft Services was awarded a GSA contract for painting aircraft (GS-06F-0078P).
